Good morning everyone, it's about...80 deg today, and it's a nice and Sunny Day~ Let's have some fun enjoying the sun and take it easy~
*crackle*
We interupted this program with your Early News. Earlier today the PAD and the PPP has yet clashed! Stay tune for futher developement.
*crackle*
As many of my friends are concerned about situation in Thailand, as a Thai person, i'm definittely not so concerned. Rather, I'm tired of hearing abotu the political issue and I hated feeling like I don't know anything. The news here is so partial, none of that 'neutral' stand. Everyone is urged to 'take side' and tell everyone else to do the same. Walking into the street, you can't but noticed people wearing less Yellow and Red in fear of being identified with the PAD or the PPP.
*sigh*
From what I understand, the PAD or the People's Alliance for Democracy, they are asking at the Prime Minister now to quit his post as the leader of the country so that there can be another election. They want the politician they choose to be 'clean', as in no records of corruption and 'respectful' and to do 'his job' for the country. Well, if you're curious...where is the PM now? Well, he's just North of the country and not in the Parliament or the Government House. Why? The PAD had taken fort over there!! Why? so they [ressure the PM into quiting~ and would he do it, 'HELL NO'!!. He was elected with the most popular vote (that's how we vote here) and is the rightful PM of the land...sure, he's the brother-in-law of Taksin (the man who took $ 700 billion baht from the citizens by various mean (stock, biz and the like)), but YOU PEOPLE VOTE FOR HIM! Sure, there are some buying votes going on, but I wonder if they did anything to prevent it.
On Monday, the 24th, the PAD had moved to closed down Suvarnabhumi Intl' Aiport, and now they had succeed and all flights IN AND OUT of the country is impossible. Newspaper today had many concerned over this airport closed down, since this is a HIGH SEASON for travelling there are a lot of tourists who are coming in and going out. 700 flights have been conceled, and travellers are sleeping in the Airport, hoping that tehy can be the first to fly out at 6 pm. The Domestic Aiport, Don Mueag, is also closed due to the PAD's invasion. Frustrated tourists can be seen on the NEWS, saying things like 'I'm never going to come back to Thailand', 'I hate Thailand', and all the like....
TAT, the Tourism Authority of Thailand is saying that Thailand would probably need 2 years in order to gain travellers trust again. Hell, we're probably going to need something much more time than that if they're not going ot solve this problem soon. We're lucky that we're majorly effected by the global economy, hell, internal issues are crazy!
The PPP, People's Power Party, is trying to bring back Taksin and for the country to 'FORGIVE' him from his charges....Taksin...is not, in anyway, being exiled from Thailand. But he's TOO SCARED to comeback and face hsi charges, he said that he is 'afraid of violence acts' that could occur. Taksin and his family were in England, until recently his wife filed a divorce, and England decided to banned them from entering the country while they were travelling out of England. The divorce with his wife, is probably nothing more than to ensure that half of 700 billion baht will be free for usage, since his wife is not charged with anything wrong (which i think is BS).
Taksin used a 'phone in' basically a pre-recorded talk that the PPP used to bring all of this follower together...You should have seen the footage, the people there f--ing cry like it's the messiah coming. I have not seen something so ridiculously WRONG. Why would you shed tears for a person like him? He's just a man, hell, HE IS a FU--ing CRIMINAL on the run and he is looking for ways possible to come bak into the political world. What the FU-K!?
Now the two sides often clashed, as I'm sure you can imagine when two kids are fighting, they can't avoid each other.
Since MOnday, 2 separate incidents had occur less than 1 km away from where I work. There were gunshots, bombs, fule+motorcycle = fire, and lots of beating. Well, I will have to say that I'm lucky that it all happen after work, like late evening or early in the morning. I can't say how long this will go on, but really someone has to do something. about 80% of Thai people are tired of this...
Even my boss, an American is telling me that this situation is 'in your face'. We're not hurting because of the global Economy situation, but self inflicted wounds...we are just really stupid for not taking this time to strengten our economy and move up the ranck of the world along with china, Korea and Japan, but we're just plunging ourselves into a deeper hole, and a deeper grave at that.
He gave me an example, in US, the people weren't happy with Bush being the Prez, but do the Americans make protest that hurt the countries like this? They don't take down the White HOUSE, the Capitol Hills, or the In'tl Aiport do they? They spend years on selecting candidates who will be able to defeat Bush, and look, now you guys are ready to take on some 'CHANGE'. Hell, why can't we be civilized too? And then the old people are wondering why the youngsters these days watn to study out of the country and never come bak? WEll, if the country is still going thru some internal turmoil, I don't think anyone would wnat to come bak once they have seen how civilized people had lived.
If I have any say in this at all, both sides have to be disbanded, simultaneiously. And forbidden to do anything like this again, there's nothing good coming out of it except for personal gain, personal pleasure. the government should probably take the Chief of Army's advice, just get out of the seat, give them waht they want and let's start it over.
AT that, I leave you to go and take pity on us, Thai People
