yum + weekend item
1. i went cross country skiing for the first time today, and am proud to say that i progressed from outright, abject terror to minor panic. 'twas a good day. one of my butt cheeks is purple from a good tumble down a hill, though.
2. i made gnocchi from scratch and they turned out to be delicious, fluffy pillows of potato goodness. sauteed in brown butter, with button mushrooms and red swiss chard. SO DELICIOUS.
3. for e's birthday (technically today, but the party was last night) i made three kinds of cupcakes:
(a) white cake with banana-white chocolate ganache filling, whipped white chocolate icing
(b) lemon-coconut cupcakes with lemon curd filling, cream cheese icing
(c) chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese filling, sour cream chocolate icing
fricking awesome.
