I was totally resisting the Harry Potter mania, planning to wait a few months to buy the book and approach the whole thing with a level head. Then, when I was in the bookstore today, I saw the huge pile of them, all with inviting 40% off stickers, and...I broke down and bought a copy. I've started reading the book, and it's good so far, although I had to go onto wikipedia to get synopses of the previous 6 books as my memory of the past story lines was fuzzy.
