I started this post last night, but got exhausted mid-way through and went to bed. Now I'm up at 3:20 in the morning 'cause Big Dog woke me up to take her outside an hour ago and I still can't get back to sleep. Sigh.
So anyway, the rain finally stopped, so yesterday I went to the barn and I damn well rode Sharif for the first time in months. We didn't trot (though I wanted to), so I ended up lasting longer than I usually do when I trot him. Sharif was a good boy, albeit a bit spooky at times, 'cause I rode him in a place he hasn't been to yet, and he couldn't see his friends. Still, as tense as he was, he didn't fight me or wig out or refuse to go forward like he would have done when he was 5. Mommy's little princess is all grown up*!
First, Max wishes for you to gaze upon his cuteness.
Pippin and Jig are all grown up now.
Mom giving RJ what he wants: Powerade.
You don't understand how much he loves Powerade.
I put Sharif's fly mask back on him and he's ready to once again take his place as the pasture geek. Luckily, they didn't give him any shit over it this time.
This is what it looks like when a horse shakes like a dog. :D
Isn't he adorkable? By the way, the white stuff on his nose is just sunscreen. Can't have the princess getting a sunburned nose, now can we?
*And I would certainly hope so, considering that he is now 19.
