STRESS.

Classes are going fairly well so far, though I can tell already that it's going to be a really, really stressful semester. Even though I've mostly enjoyed and learned from both of the class sessions, I left them exhausted and in pain, which also made it hard to concentrate and take notes. I'd start writing a sentence and then forget what I was writing half-way through. I'm going to try to start on the first paper tonight, even though it's not due for another week. It has to be at least 6 pages long, so the sooner I start the better. There are two of those due, plus a final project which involves a twenty-minute presentation and a 7-9 page paper. This is a six-week course. I am so fucking dreading the next month, but I need this class to graduate, so I have no choice but to go through with it. On the bright side, the professor said I could do my final project on Girl Genius, so maybe it won't be so bad.

For low-impact stress relief, I've been playing a lot of video games in my spare time. I finished Final Fantasy X, beating Seymour, Jecht, all of the aeons and Yu Yevon in one go and on my first try, thanks largely to Anima, the Magus Sisters and the Reflect spell (it stops Yevon from being able to cure himself). It made me so happy to see Tidus fade away, even though I felt a little bad for Yuna at the same time. When I get around to playing X-2 again, I will once again try for a 99% ending rather than a perfect one, so as not to bring his annoying ass back.

I got my hair cut by my cousin yesterday, and it is now once again short and spiky. It looks and feels so much better, but it's now painfully obvious that it's time for a re-dye. Anyway, it was good seeing her again. She's always been really easy to get along with. Hairdressing is the perfect profession for her, 'cause she's such a people-person, and also she's really good at her job.

My bloodtests came back, and while my cholesterol has gone down, it's still pretty high, plus my insulin is out of whack (though I'm not diabetic), so she put me on a medication that's good for both that and for managing polycystic ovarian syndrome. I also have to have an abdominal ultrasound next week. Blerg.

Hopefully I'll be able to see Sharif tomorrow. The gnats have been horrible this year so I got him a fly mask to keep them out of his eyes and ears. It should also make for some really great photo opportunities.
