This week in Monster class, we watched the X-Files episode "Bad Blood," talked about the semiotics of monster myths and watched half of the movie Fido. It's a funny and engaging movie, and light on the gore, but zombie movies always freak me out, so I've been a little on edge ever since. Despite that, I'm still looking forward to seeing the ending next Tuesday.
This week at Target, I learned that the best time to shop for Monster High/My Little Pony (which I'm buying again since Hasbro apologized) is right before the schools let out. This time I splurged a bit came home with a Lagoona Blue and the Cutie Mark Crusaders + Cheerilee set. I may eventually give in and buy a Ghoulia, 'cause even though I'm scared of zombies, she's totally awesome.
This week in Skyrim, my Orc werewolf Angrukka gar-Thul (granddaughter of my Oblivion characer, Ograna gar-Thul) defeated the dragon Alduin finally and forever (probably). And it. Was. INCREDIBLE. Then she finished the war for the Imperials and denied Ulfric his last request of being slain by the Dovahkin. She then married Aela the Huntress, the very woman whose blood turned Angrukka into a werewolf. Now she's just kind of wandering around, fulfilling various quests as she gets around to them. Soon I'll be making a new character. I'd like to bring back Ashandra, but I may wait and make a different character first. Anyway.
Yesterday I went swimming at the UWF pool for the first time in two years (they had a lot of renovations done, so no one else swam there either. I had a great time, despite the fact that the hot tub still doesn't work. Also, in my enthusiasm for being in water, I kind of overdid it a lot and am now paying for it. Totally worth it. Also, the sauna still works, so that's an added bonus.
Tomorrow I've got my first meeting with a new therapist. I miss Karen, and I wish my insurance still covered her sessions. I hope I like the new one just as much.
My dad,
seen here showing off his Dumbledore costume, has been invited to teach the History of Magic for the Harry Potter Muggle Outreach Conference (HPMOC) on Sunday. From the invitation dad received:
"HPMOC is an academically-based conference inspired by the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling where we hold classes that are more muggle friendly, participate in Quidditch tournaments, dance in the Yule Ball, and feast upon dishes held in the Great Hall."
Needless to say, I am SUPER EXCITE about this. I solemnly swear that I am up to no good and that I will take tons of pictures to share here. In the meantime, I'm helping him with research. If anyone has any links that may be of help, please do post them here. Also, please vote in my recent poll, thanks.
