Been playing a lot of Oblivion lately, mostly because I'm usually too tired to do much else, and because my back's been hurting too much to sit in my computer chair, hence the silence on my end. My characters are really kicking ass now that I'm exploiting the hell out of the item duplication cheat and have them all in chameleon-enchanted armor head-to-foot. Also, I'm finally playing the Shivering Isles quests and HOMG, so much trippy prettiness. I especially love the amber armor. But anyway. Have a list about what's going on in my life these days.
-Little Foot, the pony that was struck by lightning, was left completely and permanently blind by it. Poor little guy. D: He seems to be adapting well enough, though. Still, talk about rough luck. I've been giving him extra treats lately. Sharif's a bit jealous, but since I still give him lots of love and goodies, he's not too upset about it.
-Mamaw's back in the hospital and not doing too well. She may be going on hospice soon. Once again I have that horrible feeling that she won't be with us much longer and it's worse knowing that sooner or later, that feeling will be right, even if she survives this go-round. It wouldn't be so bad if she weren't in such pain all the time. And there's not a thing I can do about any of it.
-In happier news, I survived my first week of classes. I ended up dropping The Novel (which was pretty much all about worshiping Cormac McCarthy) and picked up African American Literature in its place, which was much more enjoyable. Also enjoyable was my first Writing for Film/TV/Radio class, which is taught by a man who has written SyFy movies and Asylum films, which are the ones where they rip off popular movies and come out with stuff like Transmorphers and Snakes on a Train (though he didn't write those). He cheerfully admits that they're shit, but says, "the paycheck didn't bounce." I like this guy. Anyway, I think I've landed on my feet this semester. Fingers crossed, eh?
-The puppies are getting bigger and bigger (for chihuahuas) and are currently snuggled up with Sokka in my dish-chair. I've taken to calling them The Boys and The Three Amigos. ♥ Anyway, I'll post pics of them later.
-I went yard-saling with dad this morning and came home with a new messenger bag, some scrub pants (so comfy), a nice kangaroo plushie, a Siamese kitty plushie and two G1 MLPs in decent condition. Not too bad considering the late start we got.
-I made some new friends at GSA the other night, including this really nice girl that I talked to for about an hour after the meeting. :D I also joined the school's Harry Potter club. Yay! Anyway, I'm totally looking forward to this Tuesday's meeting.
