So, LJ seems relatively stable for the moment, so I'm going to take the opportunity to ramble on about the things I generally ramble about, and post yet more picspam. Deal with it.
This week has been incredibly busy and hectic, but I think things are going to calm down a bit now that dad's back from his nine day road trip to Pittsburgh and Boston. We missed him a lot, and are ready to settle back into our routines of alternately pestering him and being pestered by him. I didn't realize how much I enjoy bullshitting about philosophy with him until he wasn't there. And playing Katamari Forever is much more fun with him watching as we both wear our green sweaters. :D
Anyway, the puppies are doing great. Pippin is much bigger and more active than any of his brothers, but Jig is smarter, cuddlier, and more laid-back. He's also starting to pick up the idea of house-training much more quickly, which is nice. Wish Dixie and Foop would follow his example.
Mom and I got to go yardsaling today for the first time in months, and despite the intense heat and humidity, we had an awesome time and really racked up. I got a 2004 Sew-and-So plush MLP in great condition; evidently her former owner takes great care of her toys. Her little brother was a sweetheart too, and I don't normally say that about children. But I digress. I also got a couple of PS2 games (Sly Cooper 1 and Harry Potter 2) on the cheap, which was pretty cool, even if I've played them both before. I also got some Coke bottle-cap shower curtain hangers, a nice, small corner desk to replace the giant particle-board monstrosity I'm currently using, some nice Disney posters and oh, yeah, a copy of Margaret Cho's I have chosen to stay and fight...signed by her. FOR FIFTY CENTS. FUCK YES. I very nearly did the Pinkie Pie gasp when I saw it.
Anyway, after we got tired of yardsaling (it'll wear you out!), we dropped by the new antique mall/UBS, which was small and cramped and didn't have much selection, but I did manage to come home with a few decent titles. I bought a lot of really cool stuff today, but altogether I spent about $28.00, including the UBS books. Such is the beauty of garage sales.
After that, we went to the stables, where I gave Sharif a good grooming and took some pictures. I had been planning to ride, but since my legs were shaking from heat exhaustion before I was even done cleaning his hooves, I decided against it. Maybe tomorrow. At any rate, Sharif looks fantastic and was in a very affectionate mood, which always brightens my day. :D
Once we got home, it was into the pool. Into the blessedly cool, comfortable pool, where dachshunds like to chill on the floats and puppies like to be held securely as they splash around. Pity there was no one around to take pictures this time. Oh, well. About half an hour into my swim, I had to get out to clean out the kiddie pool for the big dog, who can't get into the pool with us. In the process, a spider bit my toe, and it still kind of hurts.
Later, when I was in the shower, the shower-head fell on my head. Later still, when I was emptying the dishwasher, I lost my balance and slammed my right shin against its door. Not long after that, I accidentally dropped a book on my left foot while I was emptying out my desk in preparation for moving it out. I guess the moral of the story is that I become very accident-prone when I'm tired.
But look at me still talking when there's picspam to post.
Like all babies, Pippin and Jig are much more charming when they're asleep.
Pip loves having the blanket all to himself.
Jig, meanwhile, seems to like the Steelers shirt dad got him while he was in Pittsburgh.
Max would like some attention, too.
Sharif is actually enjoying the heat, because he's a weirdo. A beautiful, friendly weirdo.
