I've got friends on the other side.

The UWF production of Learned Ladies opens on Thursday, and, as one of the dressers, I've been up at the theatre from 5:30 to 10:30 for the past two nights for dress rehearsals, and will continue to be there around the same time each night until it closes on the 28th. It's exhausting, and even the Darvocet hasn't helped with most of the pain I've been in, but it's also the most fun I've had in ages, and I wouldn't miss it for anything. The people are great, the costumes are fabulously tacky and over the top, the actors sound wonderful, and lacing up the corsets of beautiful women is probably the best job anyone could have. It's worth any amount of pain and exhaustion.

On another artistic note, I think I could spend all day in the darkroom and not get bored. Last night after rehearsal I went to make the last print I'll need for Thursday's class, and it was fun as hell. There were a couple of other people in there, but we all pretty much just did our own thing. I popped in my earbuds and listened to my "creativity" playlist on Winslow (my iPod), and I have to say, I think my prints turn out better when I'm rocking out to Lady Gaga. I shall have to investigate this further.
