When in I was in my mid-teens, my family moved to a house with four acres so that we could keep Sharif at home. Now, horses are herd animals, and hate to be alone. Sharif especially hates it, so we bought a second horse from the farm we had been boarding him at. This horse was an old Appaloosa mare named Lucy, and although she wasn't what most people consider to be pretty (she was to me, though), she was one of the best horses I've ever known. Unfortunately, we had to sell her when we moved to our current house a few years later, as my grandparents needed us to be at their beck and call close by to care for them. We sold her back to the people we bought her from, and still occasionally saw her up until her death last year. At the urging of a friend, I've decided to scan and post some of my favorite pics of her for your viewing pleasure. As a bonus, there are also a few pictures of me with Ladybug, the pony I leased when I was eleven.
If you knew what you were doing, this horse would let you do anything with her. And if you didn't, she had a little fun with you to help you learn. XD Good times, good times. ♥
Sharif refuses to be left out.
This was taken eleven years ago on the day I bought Sharif. Wasn't he so cute back then? ♥
The film got wet before we developed it, which is why the pics are a mite discolored. Anyway, Ladybug taught me more about horses and riding in one summer than I could've learned in a whole year of just taking riding lessons. I learned how to jump, canter, trail ride and fall off on her. XD You may notice the LB on her butt; the story behind that is that Ladybug had a disorder which prevented her from shedding her coat, so we had to shave her every summer so she wouldn't get overheated. We usually left her initials in on her butt, sort of like a living My Little Pony.
