The past few months have been really good to me as far as yard sales go. Every Saturday I come home with at least one My Little Pony. Mostly I've only found G3's and they've mostly been in good condition (and gods bless the little girls who gave Skywishes those lovely curls) and the ones who weren't were easily cleaned up and given a new lease on life. However, I've also found a few G-1 ponies and yes, I did squee a little bit when I saw them, especially Firefly, who is in wonderful shape and now standing proudly on my dresser. The best part is that each of these ponies cost only 25 cents. Can you beat that with a stick? No, you cannot. ~happydance~
The UBS has been good to me lately as well. Yesterday I came home with Smokey the Cowhorse, Myths to Live By and volume one of Ranma 1/2. That's right, Ranma. ~happydances again~
On Thursday I rode Sharif for the first time in over a month and it's clear that he's gotten used to not working. He bucked a little when I rode him away from his pasture pal, Smokey, so I decided to get off and work him in the round pen a bit to remind him of his manners. It turned out that the ground was wet in some areas of the round pen, and when Sharif cantered through one of them, he slipped and fell, and his legs actually went under the fence. He was back on his feet before I could get to him though, and he actually started trotting again. He wasn't limping, but I stopped him anyway and checked him over. He seemed fine, and honestly, I think I was more shaken than he was, but that's because I know how badly a fall like that can end. It's a miracle that he got away with only splotches of clay all over his right side. All the same, that was the end of our little workout.
I saw him this morning and he seemed to be doing very well. He still looks like a pinto, but he's moving and behaving normally and that's enough for me. He was just in the middle of chasing Smokey away from his hay when I got there, the little brat. ~hearts~ Also, I finally have a picture of him in his new home.
He's just a big old polar bear princess.
And here's Homey, the sweetest and most spoiled little donkey ever. He'll be your best friend forever for a cookie.
