Remember that tumbr-style Sherlock picspam I did before? [Course you do, it's right there >_<.] Well I've just done another one! Covering the scene after the next - the one Warlock didn't giggle at ^_^. [REALLY difficult to not just do every single screencap, lol.]

I've been wondering about this, actually. I think usually has more minor roles - or rather, ones that aren't particularly attractive - he's usually bespectacled or ginger [not that I've got anything against 'em!] or the geeky counterpart to some rougher/tougher type. [2 examples - 1, Atonement. Plays a kiddie-fiddler. NOT APPEALING. 2, saw him in The Other Boleyn girl, last night. His role? To be an ineffectual husband and have bad sex with Scarlet Johansen, just to make Eric Bana look good! Oyvey!]
But in Sherlock, they've grown the hair out into the best style for him, dyed it black [since the original unaired pilot], lost the glasses, given him a really well-cut costume, he's center-stage, and most importantly, HE'S the one who shows OTHER CHARACTERS up. No one can steal his thunder, because no one's up to the same standard as Sherlock! ^_^

[You're spot on about the pale skin! IIRC, Gatiss called him 'spectral.' Spot on! *yay for ho!yay*] What's surprising is that I did practically nothing to Benny's eyes in any of these. [Not even the close-ups!] His eyes REALLY ARE just that gorgeous. ♥_♥
[Btw, don't want oversell Atonement to you, Benny-wise - he's barely in it. BUT, it's a cracking film anyway. *if you do get to see it, look out for the shot of the Normandy Beach. Just jaw-dropping!* ]

'He [Benny] was also filmed in such a way that, with a shock of blackened hair, his parchment-pale skin and liquid eyes took on a translucent quality that made him appear both sickly and mesmerisingly other-worldly.'
