[Luke had been trying to get back to House 5, but it's awfully hard to do so with a sudden crowd of people. There's a whole slew of sounds coming from the journal as if Luke's right in the middle of the crowd, along with Luke himself switching between trying to be polite and being outright indignant about being pushed through a sea of people. Luke glances down - Oh hey Ion - looks back at the sky-
...
And then DOUBLE TAKES.]
Ion?!

[A pause. Let's see what does he say next...? ] ...what is your name?

I'm Luke. [He gently takes Ion's hand to shake it, then speaks a little slower than usual, though not enough that it seems ridiculous or anything.] It's nice to meet you.

[He doesn't know what a handshake is, so he's not letting go of Luke's hand yet.] This isn't Daath?
Reply
No. This is... [Uh... Well, maybe Ion doesn't know about the whole world yet?] ... Luceti. It's a small- [He emphasizes by spacing his hands out before pushing them closer together.] -village nearby.

[He looks down at the ground and lightly pulls on a piece of grass.] The floor is... weird.
[He is totally saying this like it's a good thing.]

This is called "ground". That thing you're playing with? [He gestures to the grass.] That's "grass". They grow in the "ground".

...I broke it.

Heh, don't worry about it! There's a whole lot of grass in the world. It'll just grow another blade! [He gestures to another blade of grass, then pushes it towards them with the tip of his finger.] That's what a single piece of grass is called; a "blade of grass".

A whole lot? Not in Daath... maybe... [Not the Daath he's used to, at least.]
Reply
That's because there's a floor covering it. [He places his palms over the grass.] You can't see it if something's hiding it like this!

[And so, he's just going to mirror Luke here and put both hands on the grass. His hands are so tiny, they don't cover as much as Luke's. After a moment, he sits and and says in the most authoritative voice an 8 year old/3 month old can muster:]
That's not a floor. That's your hand.

GUY WAS WRONG, LUKE IS TERRIBLE WITH KIDS. At least, he's thinking so now as he pulls his hands back.]
Y-Yeah, I know... [He stands up slowly, hiding a wince, and holds out his hand for Ion-... Then just takes his hand after realizing that Ion might not know what that means.]
I'm going to show you, okay?
