Ya know, I wasn't going to comment at all, only cause I've ranted and opined enuf about the last two epis, and I'm tired of my own opinion. lol

But this comment reminds me of how strange it was to go to the Gen LotS communities and see comments about the Finale being "THE greatest Seeker EVAH!". There was a real lack of even seeing how the same story they were jumping up and down for could've made the queer audience feel/react quite differently, or how it would've impacted us. Meaning there was no willful "screw em, we got ours" about it, it was just the invisibility you mention, the lack of cognition that we exist or that we need our stories to exist as well!

I think the LotS producing people are well meaning, and they certainly got alot right over this season, so I think that proves it. They knew we were out there and tried to address us, subtextually and finally otherwise. But there seems to be no understanding of the old cliches or tropes or the larger context of how LGBT have been portrayed in Media past, so they knew to avoid them. So that they would know that what's a convenient plot device to them could feel like a slap up side our head.

The ham handed finish for us queers just shows that good intentions go awry and consciousness raising (as the Old School-ers use to say) is still very much needed.

The greatest harm can result from the best intentions. Wizard's Second Rule. =D

I agree, they probably didn't mean to offend. It's just so disappointing after such an awesome season of getting it right.

Finally something Zedd said that I can agree with! His pronouncements lately have been a little wack. ;)
