ANYWAYS, I HOPE YOU ENJOY THIS REVIEW! if you want to gush over products or tell me about stuff you think i should be using then please do! also, if you're interested in more information about any product(s) ASK AWAY!
PART ONE: BATH STUFF
SOAP: SULTANA OF SOAP i love this soap for it's simplicity. it's not a bright color and it doesn't smell really strongly of anything, but it's wonderfully moisturizing. it has little pieces of nuts in it, which are great for a really light exfoliation. the smell is very clean, and almost creamy, but not buttery. leaves you feeling lovely and soft. it also lathers incredibly well.
GRADE: A
SOAP: BOHEMIAN this soap looks, smells, and feels wonderful! it's pale yellow with puffs of white (that remind me of little clouds). they say that lemons brighten your skin, i'm not sure how that works but it makes you feel brighter when you use it. it smells very uplifting, and exactly like fresh lemons. to me it also has a sweet almost candy undertone, like a lemon drop or skittle. unlike the other soaps this one doesn't melt as fast so that's another plus. it leaves you feeling squeaky clean and refreshed. i love bohemian!
GRADE: A+
SOAP: FIGS AND LEAVES probably the most underrated soap at lush. to me it's so aesthetically beautiful. my chunk was a caramel brown color with a leaf draped on top of it. the soap has flecks of figs that are wonderful for exfoliating (more abrasive than the sultana but not painful at all). to me it smells fresh yet earthy. i can also smell fallen leaves, definitely a unisex scent. so moisturizing, and unique, love this.
GRADE: A
SOAP: ROCKSTAR even though most people swear by this soap, i'm not a huge fan. first of all i found it kind of drying, not as moisturizing as the other soaps i've tried. and second of all, i wasn't too keen on the smell. it smells sickeningly sweet, and kind of powdery. in it's solid form it's not too bad, it's actually quite nice, but in the shower it's a whole other story. when i used it wet the smell changed from sweet and powdery to medicinal and sour. dnw. oh AND it melts so darn fast. so yeah, not a fan.
GRADE: B-
SHOWER GEL: SNOW FAIRY oh my golly gosh i have been wanting to try this for so long! so happy i finally own it, hee! this is a limited edition shower gel that comes out at christmas time. it has iridescent blue sparkles at the bottom of the bottle and is a pleasant consistency (not too runny and not too thick). it makes a ton of bubbles, and smells really nice. it smells really sweet, and fruity, it reminds me of blackcurrants, bubblegum, and candy. in terms of lush products it smells like a medley of the comforter bubble bar, creamy candy bubble bar, and bubblegum lipscrub.
GRADE: A
SHOWER GEL: RUB RUB RUB this is an exfoliating shower gel with fine chunks of sea salt. it doesn't lather as well as snow fairy but because it's an exfoliating shower scrub, i didn't expect it too. it's not abrasive at all, in fact the granules of salt start melting a bit once you use it on your wet skin. the smell of this is so intriguing, it smells of orange blossoms, and citrus. it also has a fresh undertone to it, like a beachy scent. i finally put my finger on what it also reminds me of and that is soda pop/fizzy drinks. it has that kind of carbonated soft drink element which i find really interesting and unique. in terms of lush products it smells like a medley of gorgeous moisturizer, lovely jubblies firming cream, and ocean salt scrub. it's supposed to smell like their sakura bath bomb, and it does smell a lot like it!
GRADE: A
BUBBLE BAR: THE COMFORTER how come i've never tried this before?! it's such a bestseller and everyone who's used this product has RAVED about it! first of all, it smells so beautiful. it smells sweet and fruity, like blackcurrants (this may sound gross but it reminds me of throat soothers, rofl). if fairytales had a scent i think this would be it, haha :) also, OMG SO MANY BUBBLES IT'S INSANE. i got three uses out of it, and you could probably get four or five! it turns the water a beautiful bright pink and makes a billion bubbles! the smell mellows out in the tub but it's still wonderful! it left my skin feeling soft and smooth and smelling fantastic! beautiful product.
GRADE: A+
PART TWO: HAIRCARE
SHAMPOO: GODIVA eh, not really a fan of solid shampoo bars from lush, but this is the best one that i've tried. i love the smell of this, it smells strongly of jasmine, which is lovely. it's supposed to be a shampoo and conditioner in one, so it wasn't really drying on my hair, it just left it feeling very strange (the first time). i felt that my hair was like elastic, it was better using it the second time around but it was just a tad drying. if you use conditioner you won't mind the way it leaves your hair feeling.
GRADE: B+
CONDITIONER: JUNGLE i have wanted to try this for over almost a year now, so happy i finally got the chance to buy it! i've never used this in it's solid form because that just seemed awkward to me. they say you can use the entire bar and rub it in your hair and then form it into a lather, but i chose to melt it instead. i cut a chunk of it and melted it into an old dream cream container. just throw in a small chunk and pour hot water over it, stir, and voila! liquid conditioner! it's great because you can make it as thin or as thick as you want, just don't make too much of this liquid conditioner since with the addition of the water it would go bad after 2-3 weeks (because of the bacteria in the water, etc). jungle has one of my all-time favorite scents from lush. it smells strongly of fresh cut grass and tropical fruits. it also has a wonderful woodsy and almost musky undertone to it. it left my hair smelling beautiful, and feeling so nice and soft. i freaking love this stuff!
GRADE: A+
CONDITIONER: RETREAD my go to conditioner, for real. i use a tiny amount of this before jungle (my hair needs all the help it can get). it's really thick and wonderful for using on dry ends. it smells very fresh, and light, like creamy yogurt with a slightly sweet fruity undertone to it. it works like a dream, and smells very airy and wonderful. i wouldn't use this if you had fine greasy hair but if you have dry hair in need of TLC retread is your new best friend, trust me!
