As I sat down to write this, the FedEx man came knocking on the door with my new phone! My phone has been due for an upgrade for the past two years, and the battery has been really bad for the past few months, so yay! I'm excited.
Anyway, I have other things to say. First off, always listen to the cards. As in tarot cards. As in that woman was right about my car. So last week I mentioned that George was in the shop getting his windshield wipers and brake switch fixed (which we did, and it cost $350). A few days after I got him back, he overheated and is now sitting, dead, at the bottom of the driveway. There go my plans to visit Bellingham this week.
That does mean that I have a three day weekend with little to do, though. Today is busy, filled with appointments to see apartments with Kaelin, the new roommate. I really would like to be moved by now, but, alas, it is not to be. Perhaps we'll get the place that's "available immediately".
More good news! I talked with Kristi (my manager) about my schedule, and she's given me guaranteed Wednesdays off and promised me more hours. When I brought up that I might be looking for a second job, she immediately asked if I needed more hours and offered them to me. Score. Also good news (not sure if I mentioned last week) Super Josh is transferring here after all! I'm so excited.
Anyway, this weekend is going to be the best weekend ever. Keith (a co-worker) was nice enough to switch shifts with me on Saturday so I'll be on register from 10-6:30, so even if I have to ride the bus I should be home by 8:30, which gives Meg time to get off work at 8, come pick me up and go Drincoln for Lincoln. So that'll be awesome. I asked for Sunday off and got Monday in the package, so Sunday will consist of sleeping off booze, then going down to Federal Way for the meetup (might have to wrangle Stacy into coming with me if I can't procure a vehicle. George really put a wrench in my plans). I found a cute little sweater for Lohi at work, so I think I'll just change him back into his jeans and not bother with new clothes for him this round, but Mi'kael really needs some pants. I'm thinking khaki cargo shorts. I'll see what I can do between now and Saturday about that. Then Meg and Stacy and I are going to chill on Monday evening and forcibly ignore the fact that we're single. It's going to be awesome. Hopefully I can do that at my house, and we can watch movies and such and it will be fun times (have to ask my Dad if he minds).
Last thing. I started rereading Stranger in a Strange Land. It is just as awesome as I remember it, and I'm storing quotes with ease on my Kindle. Pretty sure I want to tattoo "I am all that I have ever been or seen or felt or experienced" somewhere on my body. Possibly where I was considering Hamlet's "if it be now" speech (on the back of my shoulder), because I'm pretty sure I like this one better. And it's shorter, so it'll fit more nicely. I also am considering a second Bare quote: "So you fill your life with sound and if you dance like hell you hope you'll never touch the ground." But I'm going to consider that one for a while before I put it on. Besides, I think that's a good leg one, being about dancing, and I don't know where on my legs I'd stick it. Possibly high up on my thigh (practically hip), but that's where I'm thinking I want Holmes eventually, or my tiger. So, waiting is. But I'm pretty sure about the Stranger quote.
Anyway, must go figure out how to print things. Will likely end up downstairs bothering mom.
