Guess what? It's been like, a month since my last post. So much has happened. I shall begin with a short list (in chronological order, more or less):
- I beat Kingdom Hearts 2
- I got a job
- I started classes
- My car died
- I figured out the local bus system
- I borrowed more money from my parents
- We got cable and internet
- My dad came up and hooked up our wireless
- I got my car fixed
- I saw Little Red Riding Hood at Molbak's for my family birthday party
So. I shall go more into detail as I see fit.
Beating Kingdom Hearts 2 was awesome. Sure I played it on "Easy", but I just wanted to get through the thing so I could know the story. Which I did. I only had Josh play one part and it was chasing stupid Jafar around those stupid ruins in Agrabah. Stupid ruins. Anyway, it was awesome, and now I really want to play Chain of Memories. Josh gave me the game with an emulator so I can play it on my computer, but I haven't really gotten a chance to start it.
My job is kinda cool, I work two or three days a week about 16-20 hours. The place is called "Fair Trade Haven" in Fairhaven and is a little
Fair Trade boutique that is very small and nice. It gets rather boring on the 8 hour days because I'm the only one there. Good chance to get my homework done, though.
Which leads me into school. I ended up dropping my Library Research class because it was going to have to be independed study and I would have failed it. I'm still full-time, taking 13 credits in 4 classes: Intro to Literature, Tai Chi, Early Childhood Development Theory and Stress and Relaxation. They are all pretty awesome classes and all (aside from Tai Chi) have a pretty heavy work load. I'm working on my first essay for Lit at the same time as my second short research essay assignment for Child Development, all the while trying to remember the things that stress me out over the week and writing my first Reflection Paper for Stress. It's all a rather different phenomenon for me, doing homework. It's both very difficult and highly rewarding.
My car died! I stopped by Wal-Mart after class one Wednesday a couple weeks ago to buy a wireless router and I get back in the car and it won't start. No clicks, no nothing. It doesn't even try to turn over. A very kind and helpful young male employee and his awesome mother stand out in the parking lot for nearly an hour trying everything they can think of to start my car. Multiple jumps have no effect. I don't have my cell phone, which is the big part, otherwise I would have immediately called John Thomas to have him help me, but I didn't know his number (I now take my cell phone everywhere and have written down important numbers in my mini planner). The employee's mother graciously gives me a ride home, where I have my cell and call my friends. We got it fixed eventually, but it took about a week. The starter was shot. I got a new one.
During my time without a car, I needed to find a way to get to class 10 miles away. So I discovered the WTA bus system. It is the bee's knees. I now have a bus pass and ride the bus whenever I'm out of gas, don't feel like driving, have enough time to ride the bus, or know I won't have a place to park (like when I met Erin up at the VU the other day for dinner. Busses rock.).
Oh, and last weekend I went home to celebrate my birthday (tomorrow) with my family. I got to see the Molbak's play. I've missed the past two years because I was in New York. That made me very sad. I was totally excited to see it again, and it was awesome. The one actor remembered me. It was awesome. And I got presents and money and cake. Mom and Dad are coming up Sunday after work to go out to dinner and give me my "real" present from them (I brought home a pot of herbs that came with a tea ball that is actually quite awesome and makes yummy tea). I'm excited. I miss my mommy.
Anyway, now I need to go to work. Hopefully I will update before it becomes November, but if I don't, you at least know that I'm getting my homework done!
Pumpkin carving next Thursday. I'm so excited for trick-or-treaters. You have no idea.
