fat, accomplishments, and books

I finally managed to find some jeans to replace my favorite pair that now has a hole in the crotch. Took me two trips because jeans shopping is the worst thing EVER. The ego took a bit of a bruising, but at least I didn't have to go up a size like I had feared. Gotta try cutting down on my sweets as my grandma is getting on my case for my stomach pudge. And it doesn't help that my mom and I uncovered a picture of me before I left for college sophomore year that makes my face look less "full." Oh well, it may be the haircut, it may have been the weight gain since then. I was also 19 and before I started drinking in college. It's also been 5 years since then. Not that it should be an excuse.

My room is now clean. The horizontal surfaces above the floor are still pretty cluttered, though. I'm horrible at organizing and the fact that there's no storage space for anything makes it worse. I just have too much junk. That is all. The rug needs vacuuming, but that was a bit too much effort to put forth today.

I started reading "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" this weekend and I'm really enjoying it. It's different than I had expected; I was under the impression that it was a fictional work before my coworker loaned it to me. I've put a bit of a dent in it already. It's also interesting that I made a travel brochure for Savannah, GA back in elementary school and the fact that this book is set in that city has eluded me until this weekend.
