Ok. I have learned a few things living here where it is rather chilly. The first is don't expect people to act like they do elsewhere. Drivers here are nuts. I live in an honest to god village, and drive like I did in good ol' O-town (because I want to get where I'm going safely). Second, they don't understand the need for ceiling fans. People here are odd. Third, precipitation in any form makes people kinda freak out. Me? I'm like rain? Meh. Whatev. Snow? Cool. Ice? Hmmm, ok now there's cause for concern. Not because it's on the ground (you just need to be more careful) but because it falls from the sky here. Which is what leads us to my entry.
We had an ice storm last night. Freezing rain. Fallen trees leading to loss of power. Good because Jae had no school today. And for me because after I drove to work and sat in the parking lot for a few minutes wondering why there were no cars, I call a coworker who says because we have no power in our building and our bosses made the executive decision to close today. So no work. Yay for me. Problem is still no power at home. So, a little cool and dark, and not too happy about that. Also got my 6 crowns on my teeth yesterday, so am hurting a little bit. Permanant ones go on Jan 16 so that's a day I'm looking forward to.
And to my sister: 12 days and counting!!!!!!!
