Spent most of the day in a pile with the pack, watching the lightning and rain lash around us. Being surrounded by the flash crash sizzle boom, strikes and ear-splitting thunder rolling on and on for hours meant dogs needing physical contact. But as long as we all stayed together they did ok, even though the lightning hit very close a number of times (YOW!). Ripley paced less than usual, and Burb was actually fine as long as she could curl up with us. It's the calmest I've ever seen her during this sort of thing. The storm was much worse than we've been through in a long time, but they weathered it really well and we only lost power briefly.
It was too dangerous to go out and do offerings in the storm itself, and the dogs needed me to be present. Anyway, I've been offering to the Cailleachan regularly already. I checked in with the Hags a bit during it, but no one wanted me to trance out too much. Every time I started to, Burb would nudge me or start trying to lick me.
Tired now. Wish I'd accomplished more today, but it wasn't the day for it. At least we got bonding time in.
And we saw a hawk right before the thunder started. Don't think it's either of the ones from two years ago. This one is more stripey, perhaps a Broad-Winged Hawk. I'd been wondering when we'd see hawks again.
