Some notes....new AU...
So, this is/will be (I hope) a new Stargate Atlantis AU. It will be when I have time to write it, or for a Big Bang at some point. Just a few notes to keep the SGA bunny contained.
Jennifer Keller, a world famous model, has a stalker, one who is getting more and more deranged with each 'gift' or 'note' he leaves her. She's desperate and turns to an old school friend, Daniel Jackson, a reporter for the Cheyenne Mountain Journal. Both talented and controversial, he's got an amazingly diverse set of contracts. He tells her about one of them who can help.
Jackson calls his contact, Sam (Samantha) Carter, head of the Atlantis Group, a very elite security organization. They specialize in every type of security - from computers to bodyguards, museums to personal homes. They cater mostly to private citizens (who can afford it), but have been known to provide backup for official law enforcement/military forces.
Carter agrees to take the job after reviewing the situation. Given the high profile nature of the victim, she decides to get personally involved with this one. She will take the research and 'leg work' part of the job while getting one of her best to handle the day-to-day bodyguard duty. One thing to note about Sam - she has a tendency to make things personal instead of keeping it all business...her people often show the same fault.
Ronon Dex is a former Navy SEAL and his instincts have proven to be a remarkable asset to Atlantis. While he will go above and beyond in order to fulfill any given mission, he does have a hair-trigger temper and an extremely deep possessive streak. Sam often worries about how much of himself he puts into his jobs. He is the worst about throwing himself into things; due to this though, he is the best about pulling off impossible jobs.
Unless the plot bunny takes a 90 degree turn somewhere, this will end up being a Jennifer/Ronon fic.
Other characters who might show up/cameo: (If you are in SG Mafia, please note that a couple of these are in your honor! If you are not in SG Mafia, why?)
John Sheppard, Teyla Emmagen, Rodney McKay - trustworthy mercenary team who occasionally works with Sam & Ronon. John, former Air Force special ops, leader; Teyla, former Mossad member, undercover agent; Rodney, scientist, demolitions expert.
Jack O'Neill - Sam's on-again, off-again love interest - retired black ops; often gives Sam assistance on planning missions or organizing the company.
Teal C. Murray - an artist with a hidden past - martial arts expert who will lend a hand when needed
Congresswoman Elizabeth Weir - a friend(?) of Sheppard's - she often feeds the team intel in order to fulfill what she sees as her duty - the defense of US citizens
Dr. Carson Beckett - he runs Sam's infirmary - helps Atlantis agents to avoid the attention of the locals and curiosity of law enforcement
Chuck Campbell & Amelia Banks - Atlantis communication experts; they often play go-between for Sam and her agents.
Nate Stackhouse - one of Sam's security members, his best instincts are usually on guard duty. He has an excellent visual memory, allowing him to notice when things are added, removed or out of place. Sam also uses his phenomenal memory for surveillance.
Jason Markham - Sam's expert in vehicles - land, sea, or air - he's got a love for speed and at downtime can usually be found in one of the garages tinkering on something. In all likelihood, vehicles he has worked on are no longer legal according to most transportation laws.
Radek Zelenka - went to school with McKay, and one of the few people Rodney will work with for any length of time (or is that the other way around?). His expertise lies in machines - he invents them and can rewire them to perform tasks they were never designed for. He has worked with Markham on some of Atlantis' vehicles - no one is quite sure they want to know what has been done.
Jonas Quinn - a sketch artist friend of Teal's who has a tendency of being in the right place at the right time...or wrong place at the wrong time as the case may be.
Evan Lorne - Sam's second in command - one of the more respected men in the Atlantis Group, he is Sam's chosen successor. His friendly, outgoing personality meshes well with Sam's, and even the more intense members like Ronon find him easy to work with.
Others may pop in of course, and I'll edit to add them as necessary.
Villain of the piece: Ba'al...I just have to figure out an actual name for him. Jennifer is not the first person he's stalked or targeted. His stalking is not due to his interest, but he is a gun for hire. As long as he gets paid well and his targets are worth his time, he doesn't care who they are. He charges exceedingly high fees and his targets must either be a challenge or high profile. He loves the rush of the challenge, and the press which comes with a big time target. His nickname came about when he demonstrated his ruthlessness by targeting a school full of children just to reach one of the dignitaries visiting. He had no compunction, and certainly no remorse for the children who were killed as a result of his work. After she hires Atlantis, Jennifer becomes his ideal target - a high profile victim and a challenge to reach due to Ronon & Sam.
Plot...will probably be too cliche, but hopefully I'll have fun writing it. Beautiful model...bad-boy bodyguard...romance!
