I've been looking at LJ more often the past few days.... rediscovered my communities, joined a couple new ones, and suddenly I'm considering getting a paid account just because I'm tired of my three-year-old icons which are annoying, but which I got so used to. In the Coupland forum someone suggested reading Don DeLillo. With the Coupland fans now teaming up with the Auster fans, I suppose I'll finally have to give him a go.
Tomorrow and the day after will be spent travelling to Wales by train, bus, plane, and car, in that order. Oh, the things we will go though for a cheap Ryanair flight. Jody, who's wedding in on Friday, will pick us up at Stansted and drive us all the way to Wales. He must be dying to see Ben and talk to him before the wedding. hope I'll find someone I get along well so I can leave the two guys to themselves for pre-wedding craziness. I wish I knew Karen, the bride, better.
I feel in an arts-and-crafts mood. Might start a travelling journal, just so I can buy a pretty journal. I'm not sure if I ever see the thing again once I send it off, so for now I'm still reluctant. And I have no money.
Plan for tonight: eat disgustingly delicious sandwiches involving easy cheese and ranch dressing (both imported, thank you, Julia!) and finish Siri Hustvedt novel.
