This will have to check me.

For the first time since movinginto my new place, slept until after 8.30am. That's becuase I had half a bottle of very cheap but oh so good wine last night. 1.29€ a bottle, can't complain, huh? It's just that there's so little to do when you live on your own and school hasn't started yet and you don't know anyone in town. I know this will change soon, so I don't worry about it.

I do spend too much money on the internet cafe, though. about 4€ a day. That's bad. Next week I'll go check at the university whether I can go online for free even though I don't have my student ID yet. But even if I can, there'S always the possibility that I'll be behind a firewall, and what good is that?

I'm spending tons of money on things I need around the apartment. Bins, binbags, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, house shoes (slippers? we call them house shoes around here...), dishwashing soap, food, food, food. And drink.

You know what I hate? Do you have the thing that when you buy glass bottles, some of them you can bring back and then you get a refund for the empty bottle? Well, in the time I wasn't in Germany they introduced refund for CANS. Cans, people! This means everything that comes in cans is 25 cents more expencive than it was, and you have to take the cans back to the shop where you bought them to get your 25 cents back. If you throw them away, no money for you. I hate it. I mean, I buy cans so I can throw them away! Gah. *sigh* I know, the environment and stuff.... but.... grar. They're cans!

There's a US army base in Bamberg and several in the towns around here, and that'S kinda funny. Because every once in a while you'll hear people speak English and know they're American, and there is the occasional shop where you can tell they put it there for the Americans. Also, in some parts of Bamberg you can see beautiful, big American cars driving around. Okay, so they're not all beautiful, but they're big and American. And some of them are really nice. And big. And I like big cars. I'm just saying. (As opposed to singing it to the tune of "I like big butts." Hell, I'm doing that, too. So there.)

I sent something wonderfully awesome to Jenny. It's just a letter and one thing, and it's small, but it's very special. I hope she'll love it. I keep mentioning it to her so it'll drive her crazy. Absolutely insane! Wheee!

That's all for now.
