Today I went back to the surgeon for the "last" time. I told him about the sutures causing the staph infection. he appologized and said that sometimes they can take up to a year to dissolve.
Now wait a minute....when he first put them in, he said that they would dissolve in 10 to 14 days. The second visit, he said it could take up to 6 weeks for them to dissolve. Last visit he said to give them another couple of weeks and they should be right as rain. Today it's a year. :sigh: Why can't he just say that my body is rejecting it totally and they will probably never dissolve?
So as I was leaving, I noticed two things in the parking lot that were really interesting. First there was a couple selling "pills" out of their convertable. I was in scrubs. WTF? I wanted to say, "I can get way better if I wanted to," but I thought better of it. Second, there was a sticker on a car that read "My son's in the Drum Line!" and had a picture of an anthropormorphic wheaten Scottie playing a marching snare. I had such a fangirl moment a'la "Of Strings and Kevlar" that I completely forgot about the couple selling drugs. My cell phone wouldn't take a picture or there would be one here. It was just such a sudden shock that I had to laugh. The couple selling drugs thought I was laughing at them. I quickly got in my car and sped out.
Have any of you had an unplanned fangirl moment?
