Yesterday evening,
loki_quinn and I took our nurslings (leaving the older kids with family members) up to
Park and Vine and then on to Whole Foods. Park and Vine is an awesome eco-general store in downtown Cincinnati that has received a lot of press lately, both local and national, and it really deserves it; it's a vegan store that supports the local community and has an amazing selection of things that I would normally have to order online and pay huge shipping costs. They have cloth diapers, organic baby/ kid clothes and toys, Isabooties, Klean Kanteens, organic bedding, furniture, pet food, cleaning supplies, paint, local artist art, recycled glass, you name it. They give a discount if you ride your bike to the store. I love them!
Well, I was talking to the owner, Dan, last night and asked if they may have need for a weekend employee any time soon. He actually seemed really receptive to me, considering he only has two other employees right now and business is doing well. They do have one woman that does the ordering, but she works at home, so there isn't anyone in the store that has first-hand experience with many of the products in the expanding baby and kid section. He told me to keep checking back and to stay in touch with the woman who does the ordering, who I happen to know and be friendly-with from our AP playgroup. I think it might really happen.
This would be my all-time ideal job. Really, it would be like Christmas every day if I worked in that store. It is truly that wonderful. I am going to be hounding these poor people until I am behind that counter (and getting a discount!).
