I've been very entertained lately. I've been scrambling to finish making garb for Pennsic (I leave Saturday) and so have been putting on music that will help me accomplish that ( Read more... )

Awww! Mom and Dad saw Two Old Friends last month I think. Also, they were at a Celtic Festival this past weekend in Mass. Check out "Celtic Spring" per Mom!

I like Gaelic Storm and I've heard of Altan, but the others....I love you two for the ecletic stuff! Thanks for the suggestions!

I knew I'd like Barleyjuice when I heard the song: "Nancy Drinks Tequila".

I can't recommend Great Big Sea enough. They're a group from Newfoundland, it's a pseudo Celtic infused sound. Highly enjoyable.

Hope you find a few out of the list that you'll like. :-)

Cool! The Canadian Celtic bands I've heard have always been great.

Sounds like Lynda gave you the list all good and proper... I've been feeding her Celtic 'habit' from my library for a while now.. I've got some others, but those will definately get you started. It's a good mix of actual Celtic music, celtic inspired music, and children of celtic music - modern stuff.

Maybe I'll put together a sampler cd some time.... I don't need more projects.

LOL--more projects! :P I grew up listening to the classics, Clancy Brothers, Clannad, etc.

If you listened to Tommy Makem, my sister told me that he just passed away--lung cancer.
