I really enjoyed my weekend. I slept late, got chores done around the house and worked on projects. I also managed to exercise twice this weekend which makes me very happy.
It was extremely low key and maybe a little introverted since the only people I conversed with were my roommate, my family as I wished them a long distance Happy Easter/Passover, and staceyspins when she invited me out yesterday. Not that I didn't want to go, but I really had to concentrate on stuff here at the house.
I watched some classic movies they've had on TV this weekend around my chores. Memories from my childhood, let me tell you. Chitty chitty bang bang, The Sound of Music and even the Neverending Story. My roommate groaned a bit when I burst into song when stumbling across The Sound of Music Friday night (just when they were doing the Do-Ray-Mi song). But, honestly, I couldn't help it. The whole family grew up singing, especially when it came to musicals.
Those types of songs and movies, the classic happy ever after with lessons, I can't wait to share with the children in my life as they get older. My niece, C and E, C and A for when their parents take me up on the babysitting offer :P, and the other babies that I'm sure will come along.
I can't wait to sing along with them to Mary Poppins, Annie, The Sword in the Stone, and more. Their enjoyment, and the enjoyment of other kids I've babysat for who have watched and sang with these movies, remind me of what it was like to be a kid.
