To start off, what did we do in class yesterday? I wasn't able to go because I'm almost positive I had pink eye..which is contagious.. and gross. :/
I'm pretty sure we talked about the election if I remember correctly and I really wish I would've been there to see what everyone else thought(so any points yall remember about the discussion would be very helpful).
Something I did notice though was that Obama doesnt ever where blue? I'm not sure why but I thought it was interesting and both candidates ties were striped as well as Bob's. I also noticed that McCain namedrops quite a bit, even when relating to Obama..(Joe the Plumber).
Obama did make a convincing argument though when it came to the whole town-hall meetings thing. His stance about the election not being about their feelings was true, however when McCain pulls the "it hurt my feelings" line he's using pathos and relating to the people, which is a pretty good idea. Also, Obama says "if" I'm president and McCain was saying "when" I'm president.
Overall I think McCain kicked ass in this debate. He related to the people, he made several accusations against Obama which may have to be researched to find truth but work for him at the time and he may have mentioned people such as Nancy Reagan, Mayor Bloomburg, and Joe the plumber but it worked for him and helped to provide a strong argument in his favor.
BY THE WAY.
I hear there's a new candidate: THE BEARD CANDIDATE...?I'm not sure who he is, but my philosophy professor mentioned him being on the news last night?
Interesting, we've got all sorts of candidates in the running this year,,(paris, ^^beard guy, obama and mccain...and we can't forget nader!)
