ooh goodness
Well folks, my computer is back online so you can expect me to update a bit more regularly (monthly perhaps?) now that I'm not sponging off of Annie's comp. Much has happened recently...highlights include:
Classes-actually very good this year, except that I have to find a place of worship that isn't Catholic for my soc. class....any ideas? I would like it to be close, because I have to visit 4 times this semester. I'd love to go to Bhai B'rith temple, but that's a hike.
Family: Beyond good. Nonna had a hip replacement in July. It's a touchy surgery with someone who's almost 91, but my nonna is beyond amazing. She's ALREADY living at home again and they told her she might never walk. I went home last week for my birthday and she made me spaghetti and fried chicken. I think that's what heaven is like. I miss my parents and some siblings.
Birthday: Annie and I threw ourselves a bday party at the apartment which was soo much fun! Cake was eaten(mostly be Bonnie), Beer pong was played, coronas were drunk, secrets were learned. Kris danced for me, Andrew modeled....good times were had. I really love my friends.
I saw Wicked! and I loved it. The costumes were beyond amazing. Now I'm thinking that that would be an amazing career-costume design. They were so fanciful, with so much imagination...like Roald Dahl books come to life, if that makes any sense at all. Thanks Jano!
Let's see, what else...it is wicked hot in this apartment without air, so everyone should bring me ice cream, pina coladas or something similar.
OH MAN, i saw hootie and the blowfish! I went to Ravinia with my sisters, mom and mom's best friend, plus her daughters. First of all, Ravinia is the most awesome venue I have ever seen in my life! It's all outdoors and people picnic and it's lovely...Secondly, Hootie...oh hootie, what can I say? It was fun. Then Sunday at the gym I was watching "I love the 90's" and they were talking about Hootie.
"1996 was Hootie and the Blowfish's big year...their only year, in fact" ALl I can say is that no one told the Ravinia concert goers that because there were some nutso women who would totally still have a blowfish child. Plus, on the 2nd season of friends-they all go to a hootie concert and end up partying w/ the band. So that should date it approximately.
"OH my god, he's BLACK!" --overheard at concert, as well as said by my sister (sam of course)
" Be careful you don't burn yourself on that hot wax"
"Pour it on the nipples, I always say!" -concertgoers, again
I still can't wait for Italia even though I know I will be soo homesick. It'll be worth it.
