Okay, I fully admit this is silly. My mother got me into watching America's Next Top Model - she wanted someone to discuss it with and after resisting for years I finally got sucked into one of those dangerous all-day marathons. Oops? So now I'm hooked. I don't care much for the drama. A lot of it is fabricated for the show and clearly fake or cleverly edited. But I do care to see the process and the end results - some of those photos are amazing!
Anyway, I digress. This most recent cycle (18?) is a 'British Invasion' with half the girls from the UK. I've been rooting for
Sophie Sumner since they did their make-overs but wasn't all that interested in her before. It wasn't until a few weeks ago that I realized just why I was rooting for her.
Remind you of anyone? Yup. Her hair is just the right shade of pink so that in the right lighting (I think they intentionally play the pink up or down as the situation requires since in some shots it looks blonde and others it's shockingly pink) she definitely makes me think of a possible real world Sakura. (Er, that is to say if she were a model.) The really sad thing (and something I really don't like admitting because it's absolutely ridiculous) is that I was unreasonably disappointed last week when they had to do staged fight sequences... Sophie was AWFUL. Flarg. I'm still rooting for her but feel somewhat guilty about it. >.<;;; I wonder if they will allow a British woman win America's Next Top Model?
