I hope this works, I've stuffed it up every other (three) times I've tried,
I'm sorry!

No one's reading this, but, meh.

She was in a sea of moving bodies, jumping in time to the music, screaming lyrics until they lost their voices.

It was hot and undeniably sweaty, dark and steamy, the air thick and rotting with the stench of human sweat, deodorant, perfume, food, alcohol, blood and piss.

‘It’s a moshpit, honey - get over it!’ The yelled comment was punctuated with an elbow to the ribs as she fought to keep standing. She had already fallen over once when she’d been pushed violently to the left and had lost her balance, meeting the ground quickly. She’d been trodden on, kicked and had been screaming and swearing for someone to save her. She heard her friend screaming her name as rabid fans and non-fans - why were they there? Oh, free music - alike swarmed over her, seemingly unaware that she lay squashed, fighting to stand.

She looked upward towards the distant sky where the steam from the sweaty crowd was meeting the misting sky. Everyone looked bigger and uglier, faces shadowed eerily by the stage light, eyes red and features distorted.

She screamed and clawed at the people on top of her to try and get up, frustrated and vaguely terrified that she’d die crushed, and was viciously kicked again as she felt arms lift her up, and her friend hug her. The two boys who had ‘rescued’ her still held her and her friend, and one had confronted the elbower and his girlfriend.

‘They fall down, you pick them up. They get hurt, you get them out. You’re all here to see the music and the show; you’ve got a common cause! Don’t be so fucking selfish, stick together, and mate? If you’re going to make out with your girlfriend and hurt others, get the fuck out so those who aren’t can see the band!’  He and a group of others pushed the couple out the way, and she was scooted forwards, holding her friend’s hand for dear life. She thanked the guy over her shoulder, and he grinned, informing her that he was happy to help the fallen and vertically challenged.
