Boomerbutt update: no runny poops after a day of not eating, and then eating only a bit of chicken and rice (hooray, Instant Pot). He did have a small upchuck moment in his crate in the night (ew), but didn't need to go outside to poo, so I count that as a win. No idea why he upchucked, but it was just a one-time thing (although it messed up my sleep for several hours as I waited for him to whine to go outside. *sigh*) This morning he's totally normal, so far, and like most days lately, inseparable from a blankie.
Pip's pretty much the same way:
The freezing drizz is now a light snow, which is so much prettier and easier to navigate in than ice. There's a layer of ice underneath it, so I'm still sticking with my yaktrax. The forecast is frigid this weekend and a snowstorm of some type coming Monday. They're hedging on amounts but saying things like, "All the models show snow for the entire area; stay tuned." NWS thinks that it will be >4. Lovely. I'm crossing all fingers and toes that Boom is completely done with loose poops in the night by the weekend and definitely by Monday.
I have discovered yet another new-to-me show that I'm enjoying: Rizzoli and Isles. It has the same sort of "team as family" vibe as NCIS. Also, we watched an ep of NCIS last night that actually, literally had the entire team doing the beloved fanfic trope of a slumber party at Gibbs' house (because a winter storm knocked out all their power and heat). DiNozzo and McGee were laying on their stomachs in sleeping bags, chins propped on their hands, watching an old movie while bickering and Gibbs was being the grumpy dad telling them to shut up, he was trying to watch the movie, and Bishop was talking about getting hot chocolate and it was all so "Avengers-Tower fanfic" moment that I nearly died laughing. I never realized that "team as family slumber party" tropes ever happened outside AO3.
I hope you're all staying warm... and go have a cup of hot chocolate.
