Friday....

It's difficult to imagine that only 2 weeks ago, we were celebrating Dink's Gotcha Day at the Japanese restaurant, wondering if it was likely to be our last meal out on the town for a while... and here we are in that very reality. Good news is that it's been 2 weeks and none of us are ill, so apparently we didn't breathe in any nasty germs while we were out.

curiouswombat had the good idea on her journal to post a photo a day while we're all stuck at home. I'm going to try to do that, although I suspect there'll be days where I'll miss. I'll have two today, however.

The first is the White Tree, which burst into bloom the day before yesterday:

It's always the first to bloom of our three serviceberries and didn't disappoint this year.

The other shows the fruits of my kitchen organizing labors:

Sorry the photo is a bit wonky--it was just a quick snap I texted to my sister. The pantry had become total chaos, but now it's tamed once more. There's far too many chips in there, which are mostly Dink and hubby's snacks, but I'm happy with the top two shelves' contents, which are what I use to cook meals with. You may recall that we became inadvertent spaghetti pasta hoarders--well, apparently we're now inadvertent bowtie pasta hoarders as well. I had a box, but Dink didn't realize, and she came home with a box last weekend when she did the shopping. I promise not to sell the extra for an exorbitant amount on ebay, however!!

Hubby has at last started figuring out how many pavers, sand and rock he needs to finish the fire pit patio. I'm assuming he'll get the supplies this weekend while the home center is still open.

Dink will be bringing home sushi from our favorite locally-owned restaurant--they're a scrupulously clean place and are doing curbside pickup, so I don't have any worries about it. It'll be delicious and nice to support a local business. My go-to from there is not sushi but a kobe bowl: marinated beef with soba noodles, daikon radish, green onion, carrots, cucumbers, and a sweet soy sauce with wasabi aoili. Yum! Lunch seems too far away....

Hope you're all having good Fridays.
