Part One Part Three Part Four Part Five Part Six Part Seven Part Eight Part Nine Part Ten Part Eleven Kyuhyun deliberates over who to go after next, because both previous times turned into matchmaking attempts (both which succeeded, it appears, because Eunhyuk won’t stop talking to him about what Junsu said to him today and Kangin and Leeteuk always have really happy smiles-Leeteuk’s dimple has grown bigger, Kyuhyun swears-on their faces when they’re around each other, though none of them have actually said anything about it). He doesn’t want this to be a failure too.
The people he likes the most, ignoring Leeteuk, are Yesung and Ryeowook (for obvious reasons), Sungmin (because they’re roommates-lots of thanks to my roommate Sungmin who practised with me the whole of last night...) and Donghae (because who doesn’t like Donghae a lot? Even Heechul adores Donghae). Heechul’s next on the list, because Heechul looked after him the most after his accident (which may be because he visited Heechul a lot when he had his accident).
Admittedly, the prospect of doing anything remotely sexual with Heechul terrifies him (though he’ll happily drink with his hyung, and drinking with Heechul is usually an awful idea, as Kangin has learnt throughout the years, as has Hankyung. He also likes playing Starcraft with Heechul, though admittedly he wouldn’t mind playing Starcraft with Donghae or Kibum or Eunhyuk-PS: Do you play Starcraft too?-, so it probably doesn’t count), and so he removes Heechul from his list before he’s even made it. He’s also still mock-mad at Heechul for always being with Hongki and not him, even if he pretends he’s over it.
He also removes Leeteuk and Kangin and Eunhyuk for obvious reasons, and then he removes Shindong because he likes the older man but he doesn’t think he knows how to do this, and then he removes Yesung, because Yesung is Yesung, and Yesung and sexual relationships don’t go together, because Yesung is Yesung, and then he realises he used Yesung’s name six seven times in one sentence, and he must be going mad.
The least threatening people on the list are Donghae and Ryeowook-the-Eternal-Magnae, and the thought of...well, losing...losing his virginity...to either of them makes him shake his head with disbelief.
Sungmin, he decides, is the safest option, and heads to their bedroom.
Sungmin’s sitting in bed, playing with his yellow DS.
How to go about this. It’s after dinner, so there won’t be many interruptions. None of them have evening schedules except Eunhyuk, but Yesung and Ryeowook will stay out of their way and probably write a song together, or something. Kyuhyun doesn’t really know what they do together when he’s not there. He’s not entirely that worried.
He sits on his bed and watches Sungmin for a few moments, thinking. He still hasn’t decided what he’s going to do.
“Are you going to watch me all evening?” Sungmin asks then, without looking up from his game.
Kyuhyun splutters. “I wasn’t-” he begins, but it’s futile, because they both know he was.
“I’m stuck at this Boss. Do you know how to beat him?” Sungmin adds, and if there’s one thing Kyuhyun knows how to do (aside from be snarky and sarcastic), it’s play games.
“I’m sure it can’t be hard,” Kyuhyun says with an air of I play so many games that this’ll be simple. He goes over and sits on the edge of Sungmin’s bed. Sungmin lifts the corner of his duvet in invitation and Kyuhyun slips under, sitting with the duvet across his lap. Kyuhyun watches the stylus move across the screen, eying every game-related movement Sungmin makes. He points out spots when he sees them and quickly they slaughter the Boss. Sungmin saves his game at the first available save-point and turns it off, setting it on the table beside him.
“Kyuhyun-ah,” Sungmin begins, and there’s something in his tone that Kyuhyun doesn’t like that suggests personal questions, and he’s not wrong. “Kyuhyun-ah, I’ve been wondering. Have you ever had a girlfriend?”
Kyuhyun tilts his head in confusion, because haven’t they all had a girlfriend or two? And then he thinks that the girl, whose name he can’t even remember now (he thinks it was Min Jee or Min Jung or Mi Young or something else with “Min” or “Mi” in it), probably didn’t see herself as his girlfriend, because he only saw her once or twice. “I’ve had dates,” he admits, “but not a real girlfriend, no. Why are you so interested, Hyung?”
“Well, there are two new couples, and I’m pretty sure both of them said you helped, Kyu-yah,” Sungmin tells him, and it’s the first Kyuhyun’s heard of either of the couples telling anyone they’re official, though he supposes it makes sense that Eunhyuk would tell Sungmin because they are close and Sungmin knows Junsu well. “And I was wondering why.”
Kyuhyun shrugs. “They were being wimpy,” he says. “It was making me annoyed. I thought it was obvious and they should stop beating around the bush. It worked. They’re not wimpy any more, and Leeteuk-hyung has been sleeping better. Although Eunhyuk-hyung won’t stop jabbering on about anything and everything Junsu says.”
“He always did, though,” Sungmin points out, amused.
“True,” Kyuhyun concedes. “It’s really annoying though. Still.”
His roommate laughs. “I understand,” he says. “And most of us are grateful to you. I can’t speak for Heechul-hyung.”
“Who can?” Kyuhyun murmurs with a laugh. It feels good to joke around with Sungmin. He hasn’t been able to for a while; mostly because of Super Junior M activities.
Sungmin has an impish look on his face. “Kyuhyunnie-yah,” he says teasingly, and Kyuhyun knows he’s not going to like what’s coming-again. “Kyuhyunnie-yah, have you seen much porn?” Kyuhyun was right. He doesn’t like where this is going.
“Um,” he says, and tries to think of an answer which isn’t a swearword and mind your own business, Hyung. “If you want me to steal Eunhyuk-hyung’s PMP with you, I refuse,” he decides, eventually. To an outsider it’d seem irrelevant, but he knows that Sungmin will understand what he means.
Sungmin smirks, as if he’s got the answer he wanted. “I thought so,” he says cheerfully.
“What does that mean?” Kyuhyun asks, thinking he’s just been insulted and he should feel offended, only he isn’t quite sure what Sungmin means. He doesn’t think Sungmin understood where he was going with that statement.
Sungmin just laughs and shakes his head before slipping further down under the covers so that his head is on the pillow. “I’m not going to talk up to you,” he says, and tugs on Kyuhyun’s trouser leg under the cover.
Normally, this would be when Kyuhyun gets up and crosses to his own bed, but he’s on a mission, so he slips down under the covers as well, as if this is no bother at all.
Sungmin positively chortles.
Kyuhyun blinks at Sungmin and opens his mouth to say something when Sungmin strokes his hand over the front of his trousers. Kyuhyun makes a choked noise. “What...what are you...Hyung?”
Sungmin smiles innocently and says, “Helping you,” and then he slips his hand into Kyuhyun’s boxers, and it’s warm and it feels good and if it’s always like this, Kyuhyun is happy he decided he wants to grow up.
