Oiy!
There's one thing that writing that fanfic last week has taught me above anything else...this book I'm writing is not flowing! So, having thought long and hard all week, I've finaly decided to scrap everything I've written and start over.
Instead of focusing on three characters, I'm just focusing on one. Instead of having a nice complicated suspense plot line, I now have a simple, fun, adventure plot line. And already, with just one day of thinking about it, I've got more possibilities with this new plot line, than the one I was struggling with all month.
The part that really suck is that I have to start over. *head hits desk* Agh!
On the plus side, I'm keeping it in the same world, and most of the characters aren't really changing too much. Who they are is mostly staying the same. The dynamics of how they all interact is completely changing, but while it feels in some ways more cliche to me, I do think it's better than what I had. Now will I be able to say this 40k words from now. I know not. How long it will actually take me to write the story, I also know not, and I refuse to worry about that.
It's not like I ever really stop writing, anyway.
Thud *Head hits table again* groan
