People tell me that they wished they read as fast as I do. I read something on the order of 400+ books a year, counting repeats. Part of that is speed and part of that is just the voracious nature of my appetite for books. I read all the time. I read when I'm eating breakfast. I read while I walk to work. (not while I drive, but then I listen to audio books) I read during slow moments. I stay up an extra 20 minutes to read to a favorite part of a book I've read many times.
I don't know if this is a good thing. Writing is a good thing. Telling stories matters. I think story is one of the essential pieces of what makes us human.
But I don't tell stories. I absorb them. I soak them up like a sponge and am hungry for more.
I don't know if my ability to read so fast matters if I don't manage to squeeze out some stories of my own from the giant sponge of tales that I've become.
Hey, I'm posting more!
