Update on my life and goings on

Nov 21, 2013 11:44

As of last week, I am no longer a retail slave.  I am now a city slave.  I work for a local town doing police dispatch.  Its great!!!!! I will complete training 2 weeks from today.  Its not easy, but so much better than retail.  I did love my coworkers and still do.  But my back would not allow me to continue the 10-12 hours on concrete with a 30 minute break all day, moving furniture and lifting things alone.

We have new additions to the family.  We are now up to 10 dogs and 1 cat.

In order of age, Tillie, King, Emmett, Bilbo, Frodo, Maggie, Pocket, Stevie, Xena, Jack, Dega.

Tillie is 13 as of 11/1.  She is our old lady.

King is around 9 or 10.

Emmett is around 7.  Sweet dog who wants nothing more than to be petted.  He does not constantly follow me, but is checking out where I am and what I am doing.

Maggie is irrepressible.  Always waiting to jump in an open lap, pounce on another dog, or bark at the farmer next door.  She is around 6ish.

Frodo is the smaller meeker brother.  But he loves his cuddles and sometimes goes zooming around.  He is around 6.

Bilbo is the larger brother.  He also has epilepsy. He gets homemade meals to help combat the seizures.  He is a silly boy who loves the sound of his own bark.  He also is ocd.  He cleans his brother's ears and licks his face.  But loves his cuddles!!!

Pocket and Stevie.  Pocket is a silly boy.  He is VERY smart but loves picking on the other dogs.  Pocket is around 3.  Stevie turned 3 on the 19th.  He is doing great!  Loves his new yard.  Still a sweet sensitive boy.

Xena is around 2.  She was born without part of her front leg.  We are researching ortho options for her.  She is a bit rude and almost untrained, so working with her.

Jack is our newest boy.  He is a doxie mix that has long bloodhound like ears.  I am going to start scent training for him.  He does it naturally now, so I am going to encourage it.  He spends time playing with Pocket and Stevie.

Dega is less than a year old.  He found us in Talladega (hence the name)

And some gratuitous shots...
