Going to apply for a new job.  There is a part time dispatcher job at the small town next to where I live.  Weekends and holidays are required, but I already work those.

I tore up my hands yesterday building the items that my staff was supposed to build Saturday.  I get no help at all.  The manager uses my staff to further his projects instead of letting them work on what they are supposed to be working on.

We are required to have all new items built out within 48 hours of arrival.  Since our truck arrives early Friday morning, that means items should be built out by Sunday night at the latest. (yes I am playing a bit with times)  It takes between 2 and 6 hours to build items that we have not built before.  Some are very complex and we do have customers to take care of.  In addition, I have not only furniture, but all of housewares, domestics, and appliances.  I am supposed to have 2 part time helpers to facilitate building, stocking, and straightening.  I am lucky if I get one of them for 6 hours in a week.  The rest of the time the manager puts them on other projects, even when I tell him we are covered up on my side.  Then I get in trouble if my side is not completed.  Flat out, I cannot keep up.  I MIGHT have 1 shift a week where things are caught up and I can help in the rest of the store.  And when I am caught up, I do help out wherever I can.  This is not true of the other associate and assistant managers.  They all consider my side of the store (1/3 of the store) to be hands off.  My "helpers" are not conscientious so maybe half the time I have to go behind them and move items or straighten or fix what they have done.  They leave things undone and do not bother to let me know it was not done.  SO on the books I have 3 people (including myself) in the department where in reality I have 1 ... maybe 1 1/2.

I NEVER get 2 days off together, the schedule changes weekly and we do not find out the schedule till Saturday morning when it starts on Sunday.

If you try to take vacation, you get flack.  If you ask for a day off, you get flack.  If you call in sick, you had damned well better be sick (I have not called in in over 5 years).  I get called constantly on days off.  For example I am off today, but have a conference call at 10 am that I have to either take from home or go into work for.

I am tired.  We do not need the income from me working full time.  Especially when I am so tired when I get off that I cannot do anything.

I still have not managed to get but the 3 main rooms cleaned up, I have not cleaned the house since we moved in, I have not managed to unpack more than 1/10 of the boxes, I have no energy to play with the critters, heck I do not even log into games anymore.
