Hello all,
I am now nicely settled in my new chinese home- and by home I mean foreign student dormitory.
I am learning pretty quickly, though characters are coming slow.
Tonight I bought a full dinner (and 2 beers) for 25 kuai chinese or $3 U.S.
I also got some lovely chinglish (chinese poorly translated into english) clothing.
Tommorow we are going to the western hills to visit some buddhist temple sites.
I should be reading about daoism, but instead I am sitting here at the computer, digesting my oysters.
I really need to arrange a meeting with my chinese conversation partners. I am looking forward to this because they are cute and very sweet. However, certain social language barriers prevent this from being an easy situation.
