I don't plan to ever tell my son/daughter that something's hard to do.

But what if they should know so that they can prepare? Don't you think they should see the world realistically?

But if you know somethings hard, you have a tendency to set up roadblocks in your mind that make it hard. I didn't have any trouble making buttonholes in clothes until my mom told me it was hard to do. Now I can't buttonhole for anything.

Makes sense. I still wouldn't want my kid to actually believe that they can own the world if they try hard enough. Dreams are good and should be attained, but we can't all be rich and famous. You know?

Well, maybe he/she can. Anything's possible, right? Maybe not owning the world under our current system of government, but things change.

Well, I don't think that anything is possible and I also don't think that everything should be. Although I personally think that the government we have isn't the best, the only way I can imagine any govt. being better is to not have people run it. In that case no one gets to own the world, my kids included.

When I say change, I don't necessarily mean for the better.
