Apparently I haven't posted anything in a really long time. Work is still work. Karate is still busy. Most of my kids got out of school yesterday. Parker's last day was last week, the girls last day was yesterday. I think Larkyn's last day is going to be today, but it's supposed to be next Weds. Only half the kids in her class are actually going next week and none of the girls she is close to are going. Larkyn thinks today is the last day anyway, so I think we'll just go with that. Her teacher said it's fine, just let them know who will be here next week so they know how many to prepare for.
This weekend is the first in forever that we don't really have plans. Our karate instructors wanted to plan a last minute celebration lunch for our demo team since they won first place in the competition a couple of weeks ago, but half the team is out of town for Memorial Day. Aly is going to a graduation party tonight and another tomorrow early afternoon. Britt invited a friend to karate tomorrow so we'll all go so we can talk to her parents afterwards. The dad is thinking of joining and having his son join, too, so Hubby is going to go to class so the dad can be his "bring a friend free". I'm going to try to go see the new X-Men movie this weekend! I wanted to go this morning but I don't have a sitter and since it's the first day off of school I let the girls sleep as late as they want (Britt just woke up and it's 11am)! I'm going to see if my mom or MIL will watch the little ones either Sunday morning or Monday morning so the four of us can go see it. If you go before noon tickets are $7 instead of $11.75, so I REALLY want to go in the morning! I also want to go to the old theater that's a few mins farther away because they just renovated and their seats are AWESOME! It's still stadium seating, but they have reclining chairs. They are big soft leather chairs just like you'd put in your home, and they recline ALL the way back. They come in groups of 2 and the arm rest in the middle lifts up, so you can snuggle! I've been once with Britt but she isn't a snuggler, so I'm looking forward to going with Hubby. And hey, Hugh Jackman is completely nekkid in this movie, so what better movie to snuggle during, lol.
Next weekend will be super busy. It's the DIstrict Tournament for karate. I think it's the 7 states that make up the southeast division, and the top 10 from each state can compete. Hubby is hoping to win at Districts because he JUST missed making state champ by a few points. Aly won state champ in 2 categories and is currently qualified for the World Championship in 1. If she wins 1st at districts then she can qualify for other events at Worlds. Brittany needs to win at Districts to be qualified to go to Worlds, so there is a lot of pressure for her. I don't know if she FEELS pressured, but it's a lot knowing her chances of even GOING to Worlds to compete all come down to how you do on this one day.
Well that's my quarterly update! I'll try to come back after Districts or vacation or something, but apparently I'm not good at updating here, doh!
