Today is the first day of school-YAY! I had to wake up early, boo. I think it's not fair that parents have to wake up early just so kids can go to school, that's so wrong! We won't have to get up as early tomorrow, we had a lot of extra time left over. Britt's bus came at 8:08 and Aly's bus came at 8:35, so now we know about when our buses will come. By the end of the week they might be a few mins earlier, people are usually slow to get on the first day :p Aly's bus driver said he thinks they will be home around 4:45-5, which isn't too bad. The school first estimated 5:30 :p
Aly is a lot smaller than most of those kids, doh! She's supposed to be a giant like us ;) they were talking about it at the bus stop, telling her that when she hit her growth spurt she would be taller than Chris (one of the boys saying she was short). Just odd hearing kids talk about puberty and growth spurts. I almost told them that Hubby says Aly is never going through puberty, but I didn't think she'd like that ;) There is only one kid smaller than her, and he's a teeny tiny thing. I think he skipped a grade. The other 6th grade girls have for SURE gone through puberty, nooooooooooo! lol I'm wondering if she's going to want to start fixing her hair this year, it's getting to that point where it is more important to do that crap. And at registration day a LOT of the kids had obviously fussed over their hair. Luckily so far she isn't super into it, and doesn't notice when her hair looks like crap, but those days won't last!
We had a GREAT start to our day! I went with Britt to the bus stop, then she turns to me and tells me she forgot something *slaps head* I TOLD her to put it in her book bag, and she wanted to carry it. So instead of carrying it, she set it down and forgot it :p I called hubby who was about to leave, to ask him to bring it to us. His car wouldn't start so he sent Aly running down the road to bring it to us. Now she's all sweaty and has sweaty hair.. for the first day of school, bad daddy! I drove Britt in the old car, and it wouldn't start when we tried to leave the house! I'm not sure if it doesn't like the fact that it was cooler this morning and it didn't get to sleep in the warm garage, or if it's because our driveway is on a slope and the car is about out of gas, lol. I eventually got it started, though. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to drive it to buy groceries and fill it with gas, or if I'm going to just let it sit and have Hubby be the next to drive it. I don't really want to be stranded somewhere!
Now.. do I go back to bed, or start getting things accomplished?
