Of all the films starring Woody Allen I find this is the one in which I relate to him the most.
In the beginning he's watching Casablanca by himself in a movie theatre. They le the scene play out. It's the scene with Bogey, Sgt Reneau, Victor Lazlow and Ilsa when there's the plane and Bogey finally gives them the letters of transit before killing Major Strasser. You'll remember there's a million eye-line matches in the scene. So while the cinema screen is being filmed and the camera tracks slowly back, there is an intercut of Allen's character (Alan) totally enamoured by the scene.
Weird to see Woody Allen in San Francisco.
Diane Keaton is such a hipster.
