The Corpse Bride (Tim Burton, 2005)
I remember one day in 9th grade the teachers had no lesson plan prepared for us so they just showed us videotape of Edward Scissorhands instead. They had like a xerozed question sheet where we were to answer questions about the themes of it. But all I remember was that the suburbs, or really the town it took place in, looked terrifying to me. It was like a life sized model of a nightmare.
