Ohhh allow me to interrupt here. I too am a big fan of Romance of the Three Kingdoms here although I don't play as much games anymore and don't own any consoles, I looked into all these characters just for the wonderful art :D
Lian Shi is not fictional. Her full name being Bu Lian Shi, historically one Sun Quan's wives and also his favourite. She has a wiki article! Cai Wenji is also historical (and I love her ahhhhhhhhh)
Other obscure female character like Shu's Bao Sanniang is fictional, but fictional by folk legend and not by Koei, so I'm pretty ok with that.
Ahhh sorry for being intruder but I really want to comment on Lian Shi so you can read up on her wonderful story~

It's OK! Because I'd love to learn more about the RoTK female characters. They barely got any scenes in the novel. D: And besides, it's so hard to find Romance of the Three Kingdoms fans around. My friends don't know anything about the book.
Oh, I have to say Lian Shi and Cai Wenji are pretty awesome (so talented...)
What do you think about Xingcai? She's also fictional, isn't she...?

Xing Cai's also historical, and actually Koei did a fun twist with her. She's Empress Jing Ai, Zhang Fei's first daughter and first wife of Liu Shan (Oh gawd yeah I know how unfortunate). Her personal name was not recorded, so Koei used her empress name "Jing Ai"'s Japanese phonetic equivalent and turned her into "Xing Cai". That's why in the game she shows some affection towards Liu Shan. She died early, but reasons are unknown.
Of course her romantic tension with Guan Ping is fictional (but so cute and scandalous)

I love all the Jin character designs in DW7! Guo Huai is my absolute fav (and Zhuge Dan walked right out of Inception)

So that explains why none of Zhang Fei's daughters have the name Xing Cai... (wait, so that means Zhang Fei should actually be somewhat good looking for her daughter to become the empress?)

Me too! I'm glad they released the new designs, since they're significant characters too. I think Zhong Hui's design made me dislike him even more though. = = even though he looks... really pretty.

I didn't expect Zhuge Dan to look like that. (had a tea-spilling moment) But other than him, most people were expected to look like themselves.

Not only one, but TWO of Zhang Fei's daughters both became empress! Liu Shan married Xing Cai's younger sister after Xing Cai died! There isn't even the issue of parental pressure because both Liu Bei and Zhang Fei were dead too by that point!
Is it possible that Zhang Fei's girls looked somehow like their might-be pretty mom? Their mom is Xiahou Yuan's niece! Nawwwwwwwwww I don't think so (lol) Hahaha ok maybe nieces look nothing like their uncle but I find this very amusing.

Zhong Hui's outfit...is...so European I seriously cannot unsee.

Even though I've read wikipedia over and over again, I still can't quite figure out how Xiahou Yuan's niece was captured by Zhang Fei. I always thought her family would be quite rich, being one of the notable generals in Wei. I would never have guessed that she needed to get fire wood for her family!
She could be pretty because even though Zhang Fei knew about her identity, there had to be some other reason for him to want to marry her.

Automatic reaction: a knight.
...Yeah.

Oh, which part of Guo Huai's design did you like the most? Or is he just your favorite character in the Jin category?

The story sounded to me like Xiahou Yuan was really broke lol...He couldn't even afford to keep his younger nephew alive! Cao Cao's family is definitely rich, but that's his grandfather who's rich...and I doubt that Xiaohou Dun and Yuan gets much from grandpa, since they're not even first or second cousins, they're just "somewhat related". It could be that the Xiahou family had good reputation, but not particularly wealthy.
Zhang Fei...likes them young, picking up some 13 year old girl! All info given were that Zhang Fei was happy to know that she's "from a good family" lol what.

Hmmmmm I guess that Guo Huai's look is so shocking that I love it. It's hot and humorous and cute all at the same time! I love his weapon was meant to look like a syringe. Maybe I'm just a sucker for strong facial features like a bony cheekbones and chin, and a long robe that actually looks like something from the time period lol.

I cannot unsee a lot of Hetalia characters in the musou characters...Denmark, Spain Hong Kong and male Taiwan ROFL

Ah, "somewhat related"... that's probably an OTL moment for me. But now that you mentioned about wealth, Zhuge Liang wasn't as wealthy as people expected him to be when he died.
What. That's a bit creepy from the modern perspective, Zhang Fei capturing her.

At first I couldn't make a connection with APH, but now that I looked through the character list...
somehow Xu Chu reminded me of Denmark (impression I guess).
In whom do you see male!Taiwan?

Yeah not to mention Ms.Xiahou is about 13-14 at the time...and Zhang Fei was...a lot older. Zhang Fei. So much shame.
LOL Xu Chu -> Denmark hahahhaa yes I can definitely see some resemblance there! Though I couldn't help but Gan Ning is so Denmark (especially with that smarmy smirk)
Guan Suo reminds me a lot of male!Taiwan! His soft featured face and flower in his head ROFL. Also that he seems like a ladies man but is totally unaware of it hahaha.

Yep, and even with the old standards she wasn't even an adult yet! If Ms. Xiahou was three, or even two years older, we probably wouldn't be complaining so much.

Ah, I finally saw the similarity between Guan Suo and male!Taiwan when I sketched him out in Guan Suo's outfit. It's probably the bangs that related them.

But Guan Suo does have the "lady's man" feel. :)

Oh yes, I can see Gan Ning in Denmark as well! And you also mentioned Spain and Hong Kong...
I think Xiahou Ba looks like Spain, and Hong Kong: maybe Jiang Wei?
