So today I had my conferance with Dr. Mangaghi. I was worried because the first draft of my paper he gave me a D- on and I didn't think the grade was appropriate. But he handed me my paper and asked me if I wanted to make any adjustments before he finalized my grade. I told him I didn't understand and asked what he ment. He told me my title needed work, I had changed it from the original title he had problems with and was still very confused. "just add 'and beyond'" he told me. So I penciled it in and he said "Ok you got a B+, good work"...I was shocked that I had got a B+ for two words. He explained that my paper which was titled "The CCC in the Upper Peninsula" was more of a broad based paper with a loose focus on the UP inplications adding the two simple words to the title made a world of differance. We then discussed the problem of finding accurate and detailed CCC maps in Michigan and ended up making one of the final camps together. An hour and some change later he offered me a chance to work on the Center for Upper Peninsula Studies website because nobody in the history department has the time (or know how) to fix/make the page. He told me he wanted to find a group of students to work on it and that he thought I would be a good canidate...I told him...

...I'd be glad to. Hopefully he can find 2-3 other people and if things work out I might beable to get a directed study or an internship out of it. Hopefully things work out there and it doesn't suck balls. Mangaghi is a flake to put it lightly, I want to do something that will look good on a resume and this could be my big chance...This is turning out to be a very unusual day indeed!
