B-day

I had a really wonderful b-day.  It started out at the spa while Nate worked 12hrs.  I had an 1hr long massage, a facial, a mani and pedi and then a lunch.  I got home about 10 minutes before he did and we headed to get our marriage license.  It was fairly simple.  We stopped at a consignment shop in town, and then at a farmer's market.  yay!  We strolled hand and hand in the nice sunshine.  He bought me some flowers and then we brought some peaches and kale.  He wants to eat kale every week now since he found out how good it is for you.  We then came home and made dinner and had that and some cake.

I went to the beach on Friday.  It was great to bask in the sun all day.  I'm starting to think the beach isn't as fun as it used to be.  It takes me to get there, it's too crowded and full of kids, they really lack space.  I never used to mind any of that - and maybe b/c the NH seacoast in total is only 18 miles long makes it seem squishier.  All of that makes me long to live near a lake when we finally get a house.  I thought - maybe a pool, but I think that would be far too suburban for me.  Ok, I know, like the spa day wasn't?!  But really, I'd love to live out in the country.

Today we went to Pickety Place again for lunch.  We were going to go blueberry picking after, but because of all the rain this season, the picking is over and ended far earlier than normal.  We still bought 3lbs at the store and will make some of the recipes that we had in mind.  One in particular I keep thinking about is lemon blueberry cake.  I can't wait to try =)
