Aww! This is great and I love the illustration.

This is also set in a fantastical fictional universe where ALL the Classic Doctor Who episodes are readily available through iTunes... and not set in a universe where ALL the Classic Doctor Who episodes are readily available through dubious torrent sites. ;-)

But that would be scandalous, shocking and illegal! And also require a computer about 5 years newer than mine. :-P

My only tiny critique is that the show actually premiered in 1963, not the '50s. (I am such a Whovian nerd.) But I love everything else about the fic. Of *course* it was the Doctor. What kid didn't want to be whisked away in the TARDIS? :-D

Thanks, fixed it. Although maybe John's just a casual watcher now and/or might have been using hyperbole but really I just blanked despite all the 50th anniversary stuff like an utter idiot. Blah. :-(

I tried so hard to make it Season 15 with Leela, but John's age didn't mesh, and there's no way little John would have written about the season 15 Doctor without mentioning Daleks and K-9 which would have been harder for Sherlock to apply to himself, and then season 17 had that handy fake Mona Lisa plot in that one series, so *shrug*

No biggie. It didn't detract from the quality of the story in any way.

As for ages and seasons, I've never seen a specific age/birthdate for John, and since the characters aren't really running in "real time", I'd say there's ample wiggle room there. :)

EEeeeEEE! Yay for classic Doctor Who! And of course John wanted to be a companion. Who wouldn't? (But not Romana, no.) ;-)

I think everyone at some point wants to be a companion. Sherlock probably would have wanted to be the Doctor though.
