I'll have you know you're responsible for the water currently bathing part of my laptop, because it was impossible not to laugh at lines like "like a demented, black-cloaked gazelle" and the mental image of John in the muck and a flock of geese stepping over and biting him.

OK, you win this hands-down! Between the hilarious images, the vivid descriptions, John getting stampeded over by a flock of geese (I can't even type that without giggling), and the impromptu surgery . . . yes. WIN.
