HOLY CRAP!!!
Alright, so I'm watching "One Magic Christmas" while I put up my tree, and seriously, why did I not know that Elisabeth Harnois, the same Elisabeth Harnois that kicked ass as Piper in Ten Inch Hero, played Abby Grainger in "One Magic Christmas"???
I saw "One Magic Christmas" in the theatre three times when it came out! Elisabeth Harnois was awesome! What was she, five? I remember even as a kid myself being really impressed with her acting and how much work it must have been for a kid that young considering how much she is in the movie. Her character has always been my favourite kid character in a Christmas movie! She kicks Cindy Lou Who's butt! No wonder I wanted a pocket-sized version of her to keep in my desk drawer and feed Cheetos when I saw "Ten Inch Hero"!
Hee! I'm all gleeful now! This is awesome! :-D
Anyway, yep I decorated! The cat 'helped'.
It's hard to take pictures of him being cute, he senses the proximity of a camera, stops what he's doing and poses. Here, have a tiny vid of my cat.

Yeah, he head-butted the camera.
Anyway, here is my pathetic little tree way up on the bookshelf where the cat can't get at it. Even if he could reach it he couldn't climb it because it's about the same size he is.
The blue-purple squashy thing on the left is my 'stocking'. I used to have one for the cat too, but I can't find it so I'll need to improvise. Stockings go up Christmas eve, and I stick my breakfast in mine the night before. Chaos gets treats.
The treasure chest thing under the tree is my 'friend box'. Anytime a friend sends or gives me some little random thing, I put it in there. It's got itty bitty origami stars, coins from when a friend was posted overseas, (and actually the box is from him too,) some glow-in-the dark stars, glass beads, just tiny little odd things. When I'm feeling really lost and can't talk to anyone about it, I put my hand on my friend box and feel connected to my friends. Heh, sorry, overshare maybe on that. I'm a sap. *koff* Moving on.
No, the Doctor is not using my tree for cover from incoming fire, and nor is he trying to deactivate my tree before it explodes or starts hurling exploding ornaments at people. (My tree is from Canadian Tire and they don't sell that kind.) That's just my other sonic screwdriver that's usually on top of my bookshelf. It's still in the packaging because dammit, I like the packaging, with Tennant being all fierce at the room in general. He's new as something next to the tree. I think I like it.
And that's it. Bland little mundane tree, same every year since I got it. I tried to take pictures of it in the dark (because, hey, it's the only decoration I put up, may as well get all the use out of it I can, right?) but they went a bit weird.
Anyway. There's my evening decorating and unexpectedly retroactively fangirling Elisabeth Harnois.
Oh, and here's a picture of some of the books on my bookshelf, just to be completely random. I took the picture because I'm moving soon and wnat to have a reference for how the books were arranged. I re-read "Dark is Rising" (the white spined set of four, second shelf next to LotR) starting the night before the Solstice.
